Midnight on the Street of Knives

Postby J D Dunsany » Fri May 20, 2011 9:04 am

This looks very interesting.

I was just wondering if it's a brand new stand-alone ebook short story or whether it's seen print elsewhere.

Anyone?

Ooooh! Interesting!

Well as it's an eBook, I won't preorder just incase they decide to drop it into an anthology or omnibus.

It does say never-before-published.

And damn but this looks awfully interesting. Finally a proper Dark Eldar centric story :) in Commoragh no less!

It does say it's never-before-published, yes. Don't know how I missed that first time round.

Right, time to get out my debit card, methinks...

Check out my debut fantasy novel from Fox Spirit Books, The Hobgoblin's Herald (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hobgoblins-Herald-R-Aston/dp/1910462047). If you've read it, please rate and review it on amazon; I'd be eternally grateful. The sequel, Eater of Names, is out in 2018, so watch this space.

It says story on the page. For the price set, I would imagine a short story, as it fits the pricing for other shorts.

Y'know, I think I'm gonna get it. Let's see if this phone can actually do the e-reader tango...

Lol, I thought LL would be interested...

Anyway, this looks cool, though I'm surprised it's not been made more fuss of - I can't remember anything that is exclusively set in Commorragh, so it's pretty much a background dream. What are the chances of seeing it in physical print sometime? Perhaps packaged with a full size DE novel? I wonder if we could ask for that.

I think the bigger question is what this means for the future of xenos-POV novels. There is a precedent for those of the Eldar variety but what about the others such as Necrons, Orks, Tau or even Daemons?

The real question, I suppose, is how will it compare to Mistress Baeda's Gift?

If you want to read an eBook on a PC or Mac I recommend Adobe Digital Editions, opens ePub files with and without DRM happily and is free.

Be very afraid. I got the Kindle app for my IPAD a few weeks back, I'm now buying about a book a day on average. It's all too easy to finish a book, check for the sequel and buy it without pausing.
On the cost effective side, Project Gutenberg is great for free out of copyright masterworks.
