I rather thought that too, Malky. There's something a little vexing characterising all monstrously incompetent/blinkered people as also very fat.
That aside, I rather liked the book. There were a lot of nice points to it and, oddly, I've persuaded myself that I really like the preposterous 'twist' ending. It feels appropriately Space Wolf-y, especially so long after the Heresy and the 'PB-era' Wolves. This is a real fragmentation, a really crushing turn of events. But it's hopeful too, it's a compelling thing to have happened. I'm excited by the prospect of a third novel for 'em. Hopefully not quite as... 'sparse' as the Space Hulk bit of this novel - not bad by any means, but a bit... thin on the ground?
Well, anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the novel.
