Renegades of the Dark Millennium

Postby Neverborn » Mon Mar 10, 2014 12:50 am

Hi folks.

Has anyone on here who might have attended BL Live read the Renegades... anthology yet? I've just finished the last story and would be intrigued to hear other people's thoughts on some of these.

For anyone who hasn't read it, you can find a short review of it here http://trackofwords.wordpress.com/2014/03/09/renegades-of-the-dark-millennium-black-library-anthology/.

Despite posting in this section, I haven't put actually any spoilers in the review. I just thought this would be the best place in case spoilers did arise. Happy to provide details if anyone has any questions though...

Thanks all.

Could you give a table of contents? HOw many stories are in there? And whom are they about?
"You were a warleader, a fighter, when did you gain such illuminating insight into the minds of others?"
"I learned such things as you and your brothers applied brand to my flesh and parted skin with rasp and knife," snarled Astelan. "When your witches tried to prise open my mind they opened me for an instant and I stared back."

Oh yeah... and from the end of "The Corpse Road":-

Spoiler: "Medrengard", said Honsou. "We're returning to Medrengard"
"Medrengard? Why?"
"Because I want to see the Lord Of Iron" said Honsou. "I want to see Perturabo."

I WANT THIS STORY!!! :ugeek:
In defeat, malice.
In victory, revenge.

Shaggy - me too! That's going to be something fun, no doubt about it...

Given that Graham McNeill's going to be writing Swords of Calth next, I wonder if this arc will tie in to that book or if he'll separate the two characters into different series?

It won't. McNeill said a while back that he doesn't want Ventris and Honsou running into each other again, Honsou sacked Ultramar and that is revenge enough for him. I recall he mentioned wanting to give Honsou his own series. Which would be awesome. :D

See... now that's INTERESTING. They are bundling preview stuff in the anthologies. Helps break the monotony and gives you more page-count for your buck too :D Good stuff. Seeing that TOC, I'm excited to be reading it when it is available.
