Unique Games Day Competition!

Postby Ballistichimp » Sun Sep 18, 2011 9:22 pm

Salutations!

Attention Games Day UK attendees!

Last year, as part of my Titan Crew costume, I built a huge and terrifying power-saw prop based around a Gears of War Lancer.

Since that day it has spent much time filling up a space in my cupboard and generally making a nuisance of itself.

SO!

This year, for those of you interested in winning yourself a monstrous piece of technological terror I present the 2011 Games Day Curiosity Biscuit Fest!

Simply put, to have a chance of winning this unique piece of razor-toothed (not really ... but it looks authentic) beast, then simply bring the most interesting biscuit or piece of confectionary with you. Entrants will be judged (yes, by me ;) ) on appearance, flavour and texture.

And then probably consumed by all there present!

See y'all in a week!

Appendix A - An entry does not necessarily have to be home-made. Imported, teleported, purchased or indeed any other method are perfectly legitimate ways of obtaining a tasty curiosity!
It's a brilliant plan with no obvious flaws. You should do it immediately.

HOW MUCH FOOD MUST I BRING TO GAMES DAY!

First it is Lady Pyro's obligatory tithe of chocolate citrus fruit. Then the Black Librarians have made demands of biscuits for cheese online over recent weeks and now this.

Actually when I list it down like that it doesn't seem to make that much of a big list.

I think you should make schaf a harness to wear like a pack horse, and pile the food you'll all need onto it.
Check out my debut fantasy novel from Fox Spirit Books, The Hobgoblin's Herald (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hobgoblins-Herald-R-Aston/dp/1910462047). If you've read it, please rate and review it on amazon; I'd be eternally grateful. The sequel, Eater of Names, is out in 2018, so watch this space.

They only send the horses that perform to the stud farm.

You'd be off to the glue factory... :P

No, Animal Rights activists decided that's too inhumane, now they're shipped to mexico where they're knocked to the ground with a hammer, then their throat's slit and they're hung upside down as they kick and bleed.

They really should do a modern version of the song now in light of these developments.

Will there be bonus points for home madenicity?

Tempted to throw out some peanut butter and raisin beauties alongside some banoffee monsters. (I've been watching far too much of the great British Bake Off and seem to wish to bake now)

Maybe not bonus points for making stuff yourself, but you will earn a measure of my respect which is a rare commodity in this day and age.

Also, home made means you have better chance of making something wildly interesting.

Maybe featuring bananas ...

And Marmite ...

Or something.

Marmite, eh?

(a trifle nsfw, but there's a section on Marmite in the middle)

Bod carried the day with his rather splendid Flapjacks!

Mmmm ... flapjacks!

I hope he was able to claim his prize without any trouble and then wrangle the beast home without causing any injuries!

Yep all was okay, though I still not sure how my flap jacks won.

Had no trouble getting the chain sword from the office place. Decided after carrying the said beasty for a wee while to repack my rucksack and put it in there. I walked through NEC onto the train station platform with only one comment of what’s that. When told it was a chain sword the person went very quiet. Not sure why.

I did get a lot of looks which made me strategically hang my jacket over the beasty for the train. Really wasn’t sure what the train guard would make of it, which turned out to be a wise move. As I was walking down the stairs at Coventry train station a nice police man wondered around the corner. As the beasty was poking out of my rucksack and covered in a jacket no comments or actions were made by said police man. Much to my relief.

Its currently sitting on my settee awaiting a decision on its final resting place somewhere on show. Oh I choose not to great the bathroom fitters with it this morning. I really really really need my bathroom sorted out.

P.S. If I make it to BLL I can easily be convinced to bring along flap jack. A new batch of course, flap jack tends not to last too long in this house :D

Excellent!

I brought purity seals with me to give to runners up, but then managed to leave them in my bag back at the hotel.

As a result I will come up with some sort of competition for BLL2012 to give away ... more random stuff!

Good times and congratulations on your (tasty) victory!
