If you're looking for a venue for that cool story, or maybe a bit of inspiration for the next one, I heartily recommend that you sign up to the Publisher's Weekly newsletter. You'll get some occasional mails asking you to download their free books (and you may want to, some of the topics seem okay) and there isn't something genre-related every time, but there's usually something you might otherwise miss.
