BL Reviews on Track of Words

Postby Neverborn » Thu Oct 23, 2014 3:06 pm

Hi folks.

I thought I would put a quick note up on here about my blog, Track of Words, where I've been reviewing quite a lot of Black Library products recently. Here's the link for the BL-specific reviews :

http://trackofwords.wordpress.com/categ ... k-library/

I'm not one for long, detailed reviews (largely because I'm too lazy), preferring to keep things reasonably short and sweet while hopefully giving a flavour of what to expect. There are some folk on here (Lord of the Night, Shadowhawk et al) who write some excellent, seriously in-depth reviews and I would heartily recommend checking them out if you're after lots of detail and analysis, but if you'd just like a taster of what to expect then maybe you might like to have a look at my humble blog.

The latest BL review up is for Death and Damnation, and while I probably won't have many more for a couple of weeks, once I'm back from the Weekender I'm sure there will be a pretty steady stream of BL titles heading up there.

Anyway, have a look if you're interested, but of course only if you're interested. Do feel free to let me know what you think, I do appreciate feedback!

All the best,

Neverborn.

Hi all.

Just posted my review of Sabbat Crusade :

Totally worth the First Edition price, in my opinion. Any thoughts, let me know.

Review of Honour of the Space Marines :

http://trackofwords.wordpress.com/2014/ ... anthology/

This got me all misty-eyed for the old '...of the Space Marines' books. Made me laugh when I read the back of 'Heroes of...' :

"This anthology features...a tie-in to the new Imperial Fists series by Chris Roberson..."

Hmm, the new series that started in such spectacularly awful fashion with Sons of Dorn and then never saw the light of day again? Such a shame, the short story in 'Heroes of...' was actually really good! Hey ho.

So as we've got the BL Advent Calendar once again, I'm aiming for a short review of each story as and when they come out. The first one is up now :

The Final Compliance of Sixty-Three Fourteen by Guy Haley

And here's a quick post about the whole shebang, including my thoughts on what's coming up based on the icons for each day :
