Scars

Who's getting this in serial format? The price tag ($36 by the end) and the 12 eBooks I'll end up with make this a very problematic purchase for me, despite a very strong desire to read the book.

I miss Hammer & Bolter.

The price tag is definitely a bit high, but I'm weak. I had to buy the first one.

Nothing thus far.

Though i'm honestly wondering how they're going to be able cover the whole book with just twelve installments if they stick to one chapter per episode.

The first one had 17 pages. Multiply that by 12 and there's 204 pages in total, being generous and accounting for considerable variation between the page numbers of chapters that's 250-70.
The word count of Angel Exterminatus: 426 pages. Betrayer: 405.

Well, they did it with Phalanx, and it ended being 416 pages long at the end,if i'm not mistaken
Thrusting his thunder hammer into the sky, he shouted—so that all could hear "Primarch.Progenitor, to your glory!"
"And to the glory of Him on Earth!" his brothers bellowed in response

They also did a couple of double chapter installments in H&B for Phalanx.

I'll wait. I wouldn't buy it if it were a full ebook, so no way in hell am I paying extra to get it in bits and pieces.

Just to put things in perspective, if you buy all 12 installments and pay in US$, then you end up paying $6 MORE than the hardback print price, $36 total.

Part 1 was pretty dang good. Can't wait for the next one. The inflated price does irk me a little though. Oh well, let's just hope it ends up being an excellent novel. I have faith in Chris Wraight's ability to make it worth 36 bux.

I have the first chapter, but I have not read it yet.
"You were a warleader, a fighter, when did you gain such illuminating insight into the minds of others?"
"I learned such things as you and your brothers applied brand to my flesh and parted skin with rasp and knife," snarled Astelan. "When your witches tried to prise open my mind they opened me for an instant and I stared back."

Part two is 21 pages long, and doesn't hold up as well with the serialised format as part one. It lacks the same effective structure to work as a minor fragment of a story.

Fair enough, though going from the second part it might be better to wait for the book to be released as a whole.

Ill probably wait for the whole book. By then I'll have read Betrayer and Exterminator, and Vulkan's alive. I'll be havnig a busy semester, so I'm in no hurry, not even with the novel titles.

First Chapter was quite cool. It alsoshowed some in depth information about Legion recruiting and answered a few things about the Scars... *hugs Haren* Loyalty is such a fragile thing...

Haren should get over himself and learn to embrace fully his new direction.
