It doesn't matter. They are all self-contained stories. Though Sarah's story kind of is follow-up to John's story IIRC, but it doesn't matter what order you read them in.

Looking for a tyranid centric novel. Not Death of Integrity, Desert Raiders or the Cain one

When you say Tyranid, how Genestealer Culty are you feeling? Because Deathwatch (Steve Parker) and Genestealer Cults (Peter Fehervari) are both excellent.

Beyond that, Warriors of Ultramar was decent and had plenty of Tyranids. I'm sure there's others but for the life of me, I can't think of them offhand.

Valedor and The Last Days of Ector by Guy Haley are both Tyranid centric, though the former is an Eldar POV novel. Also Dark Disciple by Anthony Reynolds has the Tyranids in it, but they share the spotlight with the Dark Eldar as villains.

Can anyone recommend an AOS sigmar book that has a self contained story that isn't directly related to the first books which are all novellas in a novel?

Was Warbeast the first proper self-contained novel?

Not sure if it was the first, but it's definitely self-contained.

There's Black Rift and Skaven Pestilens by Josh Reynolds. Both of them are self-contained stories, there's references to them in other novels but the stories begin and end in each book.
