I've just got started on Robbie MacNiven's The Red Tithe. So far, only a tiny way in, but it's rather good. Has a great vintage quality to it - lots of bureaucracy and traditional Imperial monolithic nonsense - so works very nicely not long after Tyrant of the Hollow Worlds (as it also was very vintage, but more fresh SF than oppressive 40k).

Finished listening to Garro:Oath of moment / Sword of truth / Legion of one

Not completly sold on the acting,at point it seems..kinda goofy, dont know how else to say it
Thrusting his thunder hammer into the sky, he shouted—so that all could hear "Primarch.Progenitor, to your glory!"
"And to the glory of Him on Earth!" his brothers bellowed in response

Good stuff!

Still not making much of getting the reading habit back. Only managed half of Sin of Damnation in the last few weeks. Though I did manage to race through Saga: Volume 7 last weekend. Bloody brilliant, and bloody heart aching. I was on the verge of tears at the end.

Now reading The Croning, by Laird Baron. He gets a lot of rave reviews, but this is the first time I've read him.

Fiiiiinaly finished Sin of Damnation and overall it was good, though fairly run of the mill Space Hulk Story. The short Signus Irae at the end was also a nice little read.

Moving away from BL for my next read and over to Jani and the Greater Game by Eric Brown. As a big fan of his works hopefully I don't spend weeks drip reading a page here and there.

Finished Warlord: Fury of the God-Machine. An enjoyable story about giant robots killing each other, but sadly lacking in complex characters and even more sadly lacking in any real Chaos characters at all.

Like Rawne i'm taking a break from BL to start Lockwood & Co: The Creeping Shadow next, my cool hardback version arrived (the hardbacks have fantastic covers, the paperbacks have ugly as hell covers) and really looking forward to seeing where the story goes after the cliffhanger ending of the last book.

And now on to C L Moore's Jirel of Joiry. It's part of a Moore omnibus and I can't believe I haven't read anything of hers before. Looks like it might be right up Dunsany of Southport's street to me :D .

I read Thrawn in three days. Very good reintroduction of the character, who really does get better development compared to his original appearances. Now maybe I can watch that Rebels season. :D

Other than that I've been rereading the early Heresy books thanks to Humble Bundle.

I think this counts as a book in audio format.

Candace from Pinfeathers and Purls recommended the podcast My Dad Wrote a Porno, a comedy podcast reading a book of questionable quality, and by the by, written by Rocky Flintstone. It's like the best Mst3k of a crappy book. I have read Mst3k of fics before for dreadful Devil May Cry fics with Mary Sues and OC out of hell. I highly recommend it if you can find it. (Edit: here is one Fate and Fear!)

I haven't had read anything except for a few web comics, my attention is on Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice on my ipad.

Blitzed my way through Jani and the Greater Game over the Easter weekend. Superb stuff. So much so I've jumped right into the follow up Jani and the Great Pursuit.

Finished the Carcharadons novel last night. It's good. Not quite as thick with characters or in depth plot as I'd like, but for a dryer book, it was really rather good. And a good hearken back to some older styles too. Smaller scale story, more intimate, more practical. It's a good and fascinating book.

Also a hearty amount of remembering that Space Marines have giant backpacks (and lots of weird abilities). Not perfect in that regard, but leagues better than many!

Stayed up late to finish Jani and the Great Pursuit last night. Not quite as good as the first book, felt like it needed a little more breathing room to fully flesh out the story.

Next up is back to BL and 40K with Brothers of the Snake.

I love Brothers of the Snake.

Just started reading Shattered Legions. Enjoying it so far.

What I really can't wait for is the Jain Zar novel and The Crimson King. Phoenix Lords and my man Magnus, so excited.

We've been looking for the enemy for some time now. We've finally found him. We're surrounded. That simplifies things.
